The Fort Worth Classic Guitar Society will showcase several, outstanding, classical, jazz, and acoustic guitarists during their upcoming CAFÉ CASUAL CONCERT SERIES, beginning July 7. The FWCGS’s new, FREE, summer music series will be presented at 12 different venues in Fort Worth with seven MONDAY MIDDAY MUSIC concerts in or near downtown and five ART HOUSE AFTER HOURS. Our partners are the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Downtown Fort Worth Inc.
CAFÉ CASUAL CONCERTS is a new initiative by the Fort Worth Classic Guitar Society to expose new, younger, more diverse audiences to the artistry of professional guitar performance through an intriguing, off-season series of easy-to-find, economical, and relatively short individual casual concerts during convenient times at comfortable, accessible venues in the Central Business District (CBD) of Fort Worth, Texas and directly to the North, South, East and West of the CBD. This program is part of our new, innovative outreach marketing initiative, Bringing the World Downtown – CAFÉ CASUAL CONCERTS by the Fort Worth Classic Guitar Society (FWCGS) designed to develop, launch, and evaluate a NEW marketing initiative. FWCGS received an ARTS PARTICIPATION GRANT from the Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County to encourage the CAFÉ CASUAL CONCERT SERIES.
The remaining five concerts, ART HOUSE AFTER HOURS, will be weekday evenings to catch the professional crowd after work. These concerts will be held at venues such as Arts Fifth Avenue, Modern Art Museum, Fort Worth’s Community Arts Center, and Jubilee Theater in collaboration with their member groups. The CAFÉ CASUAL CONCERTS are a perfect solution to filling the off-season with the sound of guitar music and assuring a greater understanding of what the Fort Worth Classic Guitar Society is and does, while enhancing the cultural atmosphere of Fort Worth!
